Keep NZ clean

Today the whole school went to pick up rubbish. He Puna Kawenga went down  Fitzherbert Avenue. I found a bottle cap and papper. He Puna Kawenga filled up two rubbish bags. I felt tired but proud because I helped keep the community                             clean.

Starry Night Artwork

In room four we had to make a piece of artwork inspired by Vincent Van Gogh. Here is my art work and reflection
Your assignment was to create a painting based on Vincent Van Gogh’s Starry Night.

What medium did you use to create your artwork? (Pastels, Paint e.t.c)
List the steps you went through from start to finish
1) first put yellow dots on the top of the page and don’t put them close together and put the moon on the corner of the page.
2) next put light yellow paint by dabbing around the stars and moon
3)then do the same with light blue paint
4)then with the dark blue paint dab around in through the gaps and but a light blue line to finish the top artwork and also add the swells
5) next with different shades of  green make the hills.
6) last step add the Cypress tree with black paint

What did you learn from creating this piece of art? That you can have fun making art

What was the best thing about creating this piece of art? The Cypress tree

If you were to do this piece of art again, what would you do differently? The hills.

Active Learning

In week 10 we had Active Learning, we made an igloo. This is what we used to make it. Packing peanuts, Tooth picks, cotton and  glue. It took a while but I did not give up. I kept trying and trying. We had to work with a buddy, mine was marshall.  Some  of the parts did not stick together but we got it in the end. I felt proud of myself.
How I made it is, I glued two pieces cardboard  and cotton balls together with the plate, and then  shaped it in to a igloo shape.

Active Learning

For Active Learning  we had to make a penguin sled . Here are the instructions you will need. 1 piece of cardboard ,
5 straws, 5 pipe cleaners, 90 centimeters of tape, washers for weights and scissors. Your  challenge was to work with a buddy to create a sled for Pocket or Frosty, Marshall and I used Frosty. When we did, it felt easy but it got harder and harder. When I did it I gave it a go. Here is mine and Marshalls.
