Active Learning

In week 10 we had Active Learning, we made an igloo. This is what we used to make it. Packing peanuts, Tooth picks, cotton and  glue. It took a while but I did not give up. I kept trying and trying. We had to work with a buddy, mine was marshall.  Some  of the parts did not stick together but we got it in the end. I felt proud of myself.
How I made it is, I glued two pieces cardboard  and cotton balls together with the plate, and then  shaped it in to a igloo shape.

Active Learning

For Active Learning  we had to make a penguin sled . Here are the instructions you will need. 1 piece of cardboard ,
5 straws, 5 pipe cleaners, 90 centimeters of tape, washers for weights and scissors. Your  challenge was to work with a buddy to create a sled for Pocket or Frosty, Marshall and I used Frosty. When we did, it felt easy but it got harder and harder. When I did it I gave it a go. Here is mine and Marshalls.

The great Atmosphere

In He puna kawenga  we have been learning to write desertion To write a description you have to be good at noting, observing and wondering. We went around the School doing this then wrote poems inspired by Frank Kendon. Enjoy Reading our poems.

A place remembered

We had to write a descriptive story of a place we remember really well. I chose my home in Sri Lanka. We had to make sure not to use personal pronouns e.g. I my

When the gray door is pushed open the first thing seen is the hard, smooth concert floor. Then there is a messy kitchen with pots, pans. All that is smelt is food cooking mmmmm! There are waves of sun coming from the window. The most important part of the kitchen is the big, wood fire oven.  It is as hot as the sun.

my Maori art

My art represents my birth country Sri Lanka and In He Pun Tarei we had to make Maori art that represents something. Here's what my art means: Sri Lanka is on there because it's the country I was born in. The lion is on Sri Lanka is because its on the flag. The Taura represents going back to Sri Lanka from NZ for visits. The koru represents my family.
